BAZI GLOSSARY—The way we drink it
 

Açaí: Small, round berry (about the size of a grape) that is deep purplish in color, known for its antioxidant qualities, and one of BAZI's eight superfruits.

BAZI: Healthy fuel for mind and body; Chinese for 8 characters (as in 8 superfruits).

Bonk: To crash and burn because you haven't had a BAZI energy shot.

Fancy Schmancy: A sarcastic name for something that sounds elite but usually is quite common.

Free Radicals: An atom or molecule that has a single, unpaired electron that can cause cellular damage, resulting in aging and or disease. Also, a typical Boulder, CO, or Venice, CA, resident.

Goji: a reddish, raisin-looking berry known for its abundance in antioxidants and one of BAZI's eight superfruits.

Herb: Our intern who dresses funny.

High-Falooting: Pompous. Gaudy. Ego heavy.

Jimi Hendrix: A legendary guitarist, singer, songwriter who should be remembered more for his talents than a "liquid experience."

Jujube: Originated in China, the Jujube tree produces a cherry- to plum-sized fruit that is high in vitamin C content and one of BAZI's eight superfruits.

Liquid Ice: Um, an oxymoron.

Mangosteen: An exotic, tropical fruit with powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory elements and one of BAZI's eight superfruits.

Monster: Just like in the scary movies, if you see one of these, run for your life (or your health).

Niacin Flush: This happens when a person ingests too much Niacin, vitamin B3. Side effects include tingling, an itching feeling, and redness of the skin (most common on the face). Some people may even experience rapid heartbeat, chills, shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, and potential fainting. The original 5-hour energy shot has 30 mg per serving (150% DV) while BAZI only has 6.25 mg per serving (30% DV). 'Nuf said.

ORAC: Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity. A unit of measurement for antioxidants developed by the National Institute on Aging.

Phto8 Blend: BAZI's exclusive, 8-superfruit blend made up of jujbe, açaí, goji, pomegranate, blueberry, mangosteen, raspberry, and seabuckthorn.

Pimpjuice: Something you probably don't want to put in your mouth. Proactive Health: A preventative means of taking care of your mind and body in order to avoid future problems (i.e. you did drink your BAZI shot).

Reactive Health: Treating a problem that has already occurred because you didn't take the preventative steps to avoid it from happening in the first place (i.e. you did not take your BAZI shot; you took a UAF).

Rock Star: "A[n] energy drink that tastes like alien urine." A direct testimonial taken from www.urbandictionary.com.

Seabuckthorn: A berry that has phytochemical properties that are believed to help inflammatory disorders, cancers, or other diseases.

Steven Seagal: A bad actor who does not leave a good taste.

Superfruits: An edible superhero that is believed to help fight off the villains of aging and disease due to its nutrient-rich and high-antioxidant components.

Trace Minerals: Dietary elements needed by the human body in small amounts for healthy growth and development.

UAF: Unhealthy, Artificial Fix. A completely made up acronym to describe products that contain dangerous amounts of sugar, caffeine, or other harmful chemicals to restore energy for only a temporary amount of time.

USDA: United States Department of Agriculture (a.k.a. the police of the food and nutrition industry).

Wings: Something that birds and airplanes have and we promise not to promise you that you'll grow because, if we're being real here, it's just not possible.
