Tyler Fox, professional surfer and owner of santacruzwaves.com grew up surfing from age 3 where he found his love for surfing on a beach in Maui. Following in his fathers footsteps he began taking lessons at age 10 and began working towards becoming a professional surfer. His first amateur competition was at age 13. By age 20 he was competing professionally in Big Wave contests. His biggest accomplishment was in 2004 when earned the 2nd place spot in the Nelscott Reef tow in competition in Oregon. The waves were 20-30 ft.
This adrenaline junky, loves to climb, sky dive, skateboard and plans on climbing the Grand Tetan mountain range in Wyoming. He is currently working towards a Mavericks title while actively running his Santa Cruz surf website to give other local surfers a chance to be noticed.
